From nothing to something Blog On My First Startup

           ORIGIN OF IDEA

                           "GOOD VIBES CLOTHING " 

By Krishna Panjwani is a small retail and dropshipping based Men's fashion startup born in the back bench of class 12th .FROM IDEA TO A REVENUE OF 12500RS+ IN JUST 12 WEEKS AND COUNTING

 ( TSHIRTS + SHIRTS + CARGOS ). A boy who serves as waiter knows un organized business very well . . . He work at cyber cafes & Learn sales in stalls of HOLI COLORS and selling firecrackers in DIPAWALI . On August 2024 i noticed that  my classmates are very curious to wear something which looks cool and yet affordable and they also did not want to purchase from websites because they are costly or they did not have enough time to go at retail shops . I have a curiosity to learn business by doing business . I Stepped and started acquiring knowledge about big players of Men's Fashion . Started this through Dropshipping model and sold first 4 shirts without having no inventory.

INITIAL OBJECTIVES

1)The first objective towards doing this startup in the middle of class 12th is to get some experience in business . 2) generating profits as much as possible through JUGADS . 3)Learning business by doing business

4) Business book of 12th is too boring , to get practicality .

5) To learn the e - commerce.

6) To Learn business strategies and dropshipping model.

    

        First Step

First i taken survey of class , in this survey i found that all of the friends want oversized T shirts to look cool with having comfort . Without having  capital or empty pocket i used to dropship some the shirts from Gujarat and some of the from local retails Shops.

   From Dropshipping To Retail 

When I come to know my dropshipper have few categories like shirts , kurtas . The demand is of T - shirts , so I think to buy from wholesale vendor in more quantity .

          Hurdle No. 01

With no family background in clothing business and  i am also not  ready to present this idea in front of parents because i am good in studies so parents always prefer me to do a Job. 

Here interesting part comes .

  1. firstly I didn't have any idea  from where to purchase T-shirt .
  2.   Lack of money - Without having any income source , i stepped to earn money and aquire knowledge as much as I could


          Solution of Hurdle

There are two big hurdles in my path money or experience in clothing industry .I Noticed that my friend who has the family business in same industry. So i shared this idea with him and luckily with him i see vision of my first 10 inventories of t-shirts. The problem wasn't sorted fully ,When i come to know that the money i need to purchase the inventory is twice as my savings For that money i take risk of taking loan of 750 Rs , i used my all savings to buy the first inventory .  BASIC LEARNING

I was so glad to get my first inventory without any commission and also learn to doing business by creditors money . I also come to know the actual market of wholesale where a large distribution network is running from years . Having good fashion sense I used to buy those products which I also likes the most .

I got sold out with first  10 t-shirt in the first week . By Having customers in class it wasn't difficult for me to do delivery of t shirts .By this i also reach to new customers in my school & also learn to take small or big risks

Everything was going smoothly by the end of mid september 2024 i sold over 30 T-shirts with 2 t shirts of sales return , by taking risks of repayment of credit money which was half of my sales . When the stock was 60% finish i go to survey to get the demand. By using my friend relationship with the wholesaler vendor i also build friendly nature with vendor. Till September i have taken the credit of RS 2000 ( appx) .

REVENUE TILL  31 September 2024

The Total revenue in two month was Rs 8000+ .

How much i  was earning 💸

Bargaining was so common in this retail offline businesses , So from some  minimum i earn 25% profit and from some i earn 65%. I was happy to have some income and i also pay all the liability with ease .

    Hurdle no . 02

When i completed the demand of classmates , my dead stock start taking taking its place . And in school i used to promote business but only on functions ( it happens very less)

    MISSION NO 1

When the dead stock was taking place . I decided to take my business to website , instagram ,  Whatsapp etc . And when i get the opportunity to participate in any curriculum activity , i participate . Mission was clear promote business by Mouth marketing. 

      GRABING OPPORTUNITES

1 )Whenever there was any type of program in the school , i used to anchor it . By this sometimes audience says he is the owner of Good vibes and by this i also make public speaking very well.

2) In garba nights there is huge crowds , i used to make stories and mention the organizers of that night . By this i was getting reach of unknown audience .

3) Whenever there was any function in school i used to make stories and mention School Instagram  account . By this i am gettiing promoting in school .

                                NUMBER OF AUDIENCE

Good Vibes on instagram hits 2500+ accounts reach in 3 months and 80+ followers , while in our whatsapp group there are 100+ peoples including friends , classmates,friends of friends .We didn't run any campaign for ads !

    Biggest Hurdles

This is the biggest hurdle in my journey , since fast fashion is too growing . People are not liking the one month before trend , this creates dead stock for me .

  1.  I haven't too much category too show case it


  1. i haven't team of atleast 3 people.
  2. i haven't warehouses or shooting room
  3. i haven't permanent camera for photoshoot but I solved this read below
  4. I face too much pressure and work load from school . By this i am not able to post , and not giving enough time to business 
  5.  I have android phone , when i make content for my social media the quality of content goes lower . It directly affects my reach.
  6. I want a model for photoshoot and also not able to pay him . I also solved this read below
  7. My customers aren't liking the Dropshipping products ,because they knew it i also ordered from somewhere.
  8.  Lack of knowledge in facebook ads . Did not getting new customers.
  9. Dropshipping model lacks exchange and returns policy leads to loss in some cases.

 STUDIES OF 12TH TOO MUCH IMPROTANT FOR ALL .BY THIS I AM NOT ABLE TO FULFILL THE DEMAND . AND FACING LOWER IN REVENUE TILL THE END IF DIPAWALI I WAS FULL OF DEAD STOCK

Hiring Of sales person

I hired my first sales person of my class who lived 10 km away from me . He used to sell goods to 10km away . By this it becomes easy to sell goods away from school. This sales man is also my good friend i give him 20% of his sales .

           JUGAD 01

I  ask my ex neighbour for IPHONE for shoots.By this I am getting camera with no charge. and I am very good in doing photoshoot . So it also becomes easy for me to get high quality pictures . I promise him to pay in future , now i am not paying anything to him but extra discounts !

I hire my another friend , who looks good . I select him because he has good height and body .  I also promise him to pay him future and i give him massive discounts . Since HE is my asset.

       ( DELIVERY)

My some classmates goes coaching for their subjects 10km away from my home . so when ever my sales person was on holiday i used to convince my friends who goes 10km daily and ask them to deliver the parcel to a customer who also goes same coaching ...

          FREE COLABORATIONS

My model is a small fitness influencer , he post 4 times a week . And i used him for my collaborations , in return i give him discounts .

Response From Online presence

When i launched my business website , instagram and whatsapp . I needn't to bring goods at school , my customers wishlists the products and order me through calls . I didn't run any ad campaign because didn't know how ads properly works  and also didn't have sufficient budget for ads. 

SADDEST PAUSE

IN this journey i didn't use any paid promotion and use ads .By only mouth marketing i used to generate revenue of 10000 rs + in 3 months . This was looking very awesome to me but i am in class 12 th , i however convince my family to do this business , they were happy but they said that you can do but after passing 12 th with colorful numbers . And i also did not manage my time and getting stress of dead stokes . So i close the business but  i learn alot

WHAT I LEARN FROM START TO END

I have learn too much from this business which is uncountable to me .

1) I learn the art of photography and basic editing 

2)i learn sales , management, building good business relations , building trust , getting  customer retentions ,i learn fashion more  . 

3) creates to many jugads which helps me alot.

4)  learn the risk taking ability .

)5 i can predict the actual cost of production of any men's wear / apperals , also its selling price of wholesale .

6) I also learn to Dropship some of the wears online.

7) The art of managing money rightly 

8) The art of how to attract customer

9) Knowledge of creation of instgram posts and reels.

10) Learn to bring customer through Discount coupon techniques.
